Drum roll!!!! And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for… the book review of this warm and fuzzy romantic comedy written by Beth O’Leary in time for its TV series release…

What I Liked about it: Alot! I love romantic comedies, they make me feel like everything is right in the world and this was no different.
I really liked the beginning of the book, it was sweet and the author focused on both character’s developments and their individual lives.
I came to care as much about Tiff’s-the female protagonist- friends as I did her.
Leon, the male protagonist was broody, and almost fell into an arch-type, but the author managed to make him unique, and likable.
What took me by surprise were the big topics and issues she threw light on: like having an abusive partner, regaining your independence, and the true power of friendship. There was also the part about loyalty to family and how that plays out in relationships, from partner jealousy to the extent people expect their partners to go for their own loved ones.
It had some lovey dovey very mushy scenes, but not too many to overshadow the playfulness of the book.
I generally skip sexual scenes that are too explicit or over played and I didn’t have to skip many pages in the book, so if you are worried about that you don’t have to be.
Favorite phrases: I didn’t feel the need to reread any phrases. The book is not about language so that’s understandable.
Read if: You want to cozy up to a happy story with likable characters or if you need reminding that love can be sweet.
By the way, the tv series will be released for streaming to UK, Australia and Canadian audiences December 1st on Paramount +, take heart my fellow US audiences, this only leaves more time for us to devour the book until it becomes available to US audiences early 2023!
